The first “babysitter” trip | Sunday, January 23, 2005 |
Today we hired a babysitter to go out. Our doula is much too expensive to be a babysitter! The woman I hired is an eMOM herself, with fraternal twin boys now 2 years old, so I was very comfortable leaving them with her. She is familiar with issues with twin preemie babies, so there isn’t much to be concerned about. Her son also had RSV so she is very paranoid about sicknesses, etc. The only unfortunate thing was that I stayed up all night and didn’t sleep very much so I went to bed at about 9am and then Michael didn’t wake me up until she arrived. But I had a bunch of stuff to do like get ready and also pump. I can’t leave without pumping! So, we didn’t get out of there until about 2:45pm. By that time, we weren’t sure what we should do. We decided to go to Red Mill for lunch/dinner and then we went to see Million Dollar Baby. It was a really good movie, I highly recommend it! We got home at about 7pm. The boys did just fine. Also, Dean came over to work on the closets, it’s getting there! It was a successful trip out, but we need to be more organized and plan better next time. Michael saw an ad for a comedy show next week - Michael Ian Black, one of my favorite actors/comedians! We’ll try again next weekend.
