Went to Mass today
I attended Mass today at the Christ the King Catholic Church. I'm trying to see if I can take seriously the requirement to observe the Sabbath. I liked what the Deacon here told me a few days ago: it is a requirement, but there are options to make it easier. I could attend on Saturday evening, or Sunday at different times in the day, last one here at 5 pm. I'd said that my church is Nature, and he understood that. He said that God comes to you through your enthusiasms, and does not ask that you abandon them in order to touch Him. Yes, there will be a change, but it isn't likely to be the death of freedom you've imagined (and oh, I have! Lol).
It was a good experience. The reading was about Lazarus coming out of the tomb. The priest said that we make tombs in our hearts, and meet the world with resignation, imagining that all good things are dead. Not only dead, but long dead. He called attention to the fact that Lazarus had been dead for four whole days. Well...Christ came and brought life back into a dead tomb. It can be this way for us. All of our tombs can be reopened, and life can flow again in these places.
I liked that.
